Bitcoin price climbed back above $78,000 as traders reacted to conflicting signals from President Donald Trump and Iran over the ongoing US-Iran war. BTC reached an intraday high of $78,940, recovering alongside U.S. equities despite continued geopolitical uncertainty and elevated oil prices.

The Bitcoin rebound accelerated during U.S. trading hours after Trump said Iran was interested in reaching an agreement and Washington remained open to negotiations. In a Truth Social post, the president claimed Tehran wanted “a deal, as quickly as possible, as badly as possible.”

Risk sentiment also improved across Wall Street. Reports indicated roughly $570 billion returned to the U.S. stock market within three hours after more than $600 billion in value had been erased earlier in the session. Technology shares had initially faced additional selling pressure following calls from some AI industry leaders to slow development of advanced artificial intelligence systems.

However, uncertainty surrounding the US-Iran conflict remained high after Iranian state media rejected Trump’s claim that Tehran was seeking a rapid agreement. Separately, reports citing Iran’s ILNA news agency said the United States was pursuing a possible “phased” agreement, based on information from a Pakistani source. No final diplomatic breakthrough has been confirmed.

Oil prices remained elevated as fighting continued to disrupt global energy markets. U.S. crude traded near $103 per barrel, while Brent crude approached $108, keeping inflation and broader market risks in focus.

Oman also postponed planned discussions involving Iran and regional countries over the future management of the Strait of Hormuz, citing the need to build consensus.

Regional tensions have intensified further as Iran-backed Houthi forces clash with Saudi-backed Yemeni government troops. Attacks linked to Iran-aligned groups on Saudi infrastructure have also increased concerns about Red Sea shipping and critical oil export routes.

Bitcoin’s move above $78,000 shows renewed risk appetite, but BTC could remain volatile as traders monitor diplomatic developments, oil prices and further escalation in the Middle East.
