Bittensor (TAO) price climbed 8.33% to $264.83 on Monday, making it one of the cryptocurrency market’s strongest performers alongside Chainlink (LINK) and Internet Computer (ICP). The rally extended TAO’s five-session gain to nearly 25%, with the AI-focused cryptocurrency briefly reaching $277, its highest level in three months.

Several factors are driving the Bittensor price rally, including new access through Raydium, growing Buttensor activity, protocol upgrades and increased derivatives trading.

Raydium recently added TAO trading, giving Bittensor exposure to Solana’s large decentralized finance ecosystem. Soon afterward, parody token Buttensor launched on the platform with a mechanism that uses transaction fees to automatically purchase TAO. Those tokens are then distributed to participating BUTT holders, potentially creating additional buying pressure for TAO when trading activity is strong.

However, this mechanism remains dependent on speculative demand. A decline in meme coin trading could reduce its impact. Still, Bittensor’s online visibility has increased, with Santiment data showing TAO social dominance rising from 0.05% to 0.12%.

Network developments are also supporting sentiment. Bittensor’s recent upgrades have modified subnet rewards, staking and ownership mechanics. V440 introduced an Emission Gate designed to allocate rewards based more closely on market demand, while subsequent releases improved root staking and alpha accounting. The upcoming V450 upgrade is expected to introduce validator-curated root baskets with a one-sixteenth concentration cap.

Cross-chain expansion could provide another catalyst. Chainlink interoperability infrastructure has helped bring TAO to Robinhood Chain, potentially expanding the token’s accessibility and liquidity. Traders may also watch the Bittensor Exploit Summit scheduled for September 28–29.

Meanwhile, CoinGlass data showed TAO futures open interest reaching $415 million, its highest level in three months. Rising leverage indicates stronger trader participation but also increases the risk of sharp volatility.

From a technical perspective, TAO has broken above a descending trendline. Resistance remains around $277–$280, and a sustained breakout could open the door to $300. The $260–$265 range now serves as near-term support. Losing that zone could trigger profit-taking and potentially send TAO toward $240 before another recovery attempt.
