SEOUL — TokenPost ranked second by worldwide web traffic among a group of major cryptocurrency news sites in August, maintaining its position from June even as overall visits declined.
The South Korean digital-asset publisher recorded 1.688 million visits during the month, according to Similarweb data. CoinDesk ranked first with 3.538 million, while BeInCrypto was third with 1.410 million.
Japan’s CoinPost ranked fourth with 1.023 million visits. CryptoNews and The Block followed with about 836,000 and 833,000, respectively. Decrypt drew about 722,000 visits, while Cointelegraph recorded about 644,000.
The figures are based on a comparison of 15 major crypto-focused publications and do not represent a ranking of every digital-asset media site globally.
TokenPost also ranked second in a comparable June snapshot, when it recorded about 2.23 million visits, behind CoinDesk’s 3.69 million.
Its traffic fell about 24% between June and August, but its position relative to the other publications in the comparison was unchanged. CoinDesk’s traffic also eased over the same period, while several other crypto news sites recorded lower August traffic than in June.
TokenPost’s August traffic was about 20% higher than BeInCrypto’s, roughly double that of The Block and more than 2.6 times Cointelegraph’s.
The rankings also show the presence of Asian publishers near the top of the crypto media market. TokenPost, based in South Korea, placed second, while Japan-based CoinPost ranked fourth.
Crypto media traffic has historically been concentrated among US- and Europe-based publications including CoinDesk, The Block, Decrypt and Cointelegraph. Audience levels across the sector tend to fluctuate with cryptocurrency prices, trading activity, regulation and major market events.
TokenPost has been expanding beyond its core news business into market data, research and artificial-intelligence-based services.
The company recently revamped its market product to combine cryptocurrency prices with related news, research, charts and community data. It also introduced a proprietary media index that classifies crypto news coverage as positive, neutral or negative and aggregates those signals into a broader market indicator.
The strategy reflects a broader shift in digital publishing, where traffic alone is becoming less differentiated as AI lowers the cost of producing and summarizing commodity news.
For TokenPost, the August data shows that its audience remains large relative to many established crypto publications. The next question is whether it can convert that reach into more durable products built around data, research and AI rather than relying primarily on news traffic.
