Crypto marketplace Purse.io might not be shutting down.

Last week, Purse.io made a big announcement by saying that it is closing down. However, in less than a week, the team’s representative Eduardo Gómez said that they are having second thoughts about their decision to dissolve the company.

The text on its website stating that it is closing down has been changed. At present, the word “is closing down” has been crossed out.

“Purse is closing down. It’s been our privilege serving bitcoiners all around the world. To everyone who used our products, told their friends, or helped us in any way, thank you,” the previous message read.

The message on the website has also been updated. The marketplace announced that it has received numerous inquiries from parties interested in continuing Purse under new leadership. Thus, the team decided to keep all of its features functional including "Shop" and "Earn."

Gómez also updated its closing down announcement on April 23. He admitted that they are reconsidering to continue Purse.io.

“Since the announcement below, we have received an incredible outpouring of support from the community, causing us to reconsider our decision. Several parties - including well known bitcoin advocates, high volume users, and established cryptocurrency companies - reached out with interest in acquiring purse.io,“ Gómez wrote.

“We’re beyond grateful for all the continued support from everyone in the community and have been reading every tweet, reddit post, and email. As we continue to vet new ownership for the platform, Shop and Earn will remain functional. Please stay tuned for updates. We hope that everyone is able to stay safe and healthy in these uncertain times.”

In its previous post, Purse.io announced that it would disable the “Shop” and “Earn” functionalities on April 23 and would cease operations on June 26, 2020.
