U.S.-based cryptocurrency exchange Bittrex announced the formation of a new company which will own and manage ventures outside of the United States.
Bittrex International, an affiliate of Bittrex Inc., aims to drive the adoption of blockchain technology around the world. It will own and manage Bittrex’s international businesses.
The new company is setting up an entity in Malta – Bittrex Malta Ltd., a digital asset platform operating in Malta and built on Bittrex’s cutting-edge trading technology. The Maltese platform is designed to give crypto assets “a streamlined approach to not only be listed on the platform, but also to continue building trust and a larger global footprint.”
According to the official release, every digital asset listed on Bittrex Malta will be available for Bittrex’s international network of partner exchanges to launch (consistent with their local laws. Bittrex Malta is designed to operate within the regulatory framework established by the European Union and Maltese Government.
“Through our U.S-based trading platform, and our growing network of partner exchanges around the world, Bittrex is making blockchain technology and digital asset trading more accessible to the global community. Bittrex International and its subsidiaries will further advance our work to increase adoption of this revolutionary technology by streamlining the process of identifying and listing some of the world’s most innovative blockchain projects,” said Bill Shihara, CEO at Bittrex.
In the past couple of weeks, Bittrex has announced a number of collaborations which will considerably expand its global presence. This includes partnerships with
- Digital asset trading platform Cryptofacil to launch a digital asset trading platform with over 200 digital tokens. The platform will reach customers in Latin America and the Caribbean.
- Rialto Trading, a next-generation Alternative Trading System (ATS), to offer a new, innovative digital securities trading platform.
- Canadian digital asset trading platform CatalX to launch a digital asset trading platform with the most extensive selection of digital tokens in Canada.
- invest.com, a leading fintech brand, to open a digital trading platform, starting with customers in the European Union.
