Litecoin creator Charlie Lee on Sunday announced that he is joining the team behind the HTC’s upcoming blockchain smartphone “Exodus” as an advisor, while confirming that the new phone will support LTC and Lightning Network on Litecoin natively.

Announced in May, HTC Exodus is “dedicated to bringing end consumers the best decentralized application (DApp) experiences, including a built-in secure hardware enclave, and helping underlying protocols expand their base of dedicated nodes, thus expanding the total blockchain ecosystem,” Phil Chen, Decentralized Chief Officer at HTC Exodus, said.

The HTC Exodus team said that they are honored to have Lee as an advisor.

Previously, Chen had said that the new phone would support Bitcoin, Lightning Networks, Ethereum, Dfinity, and more.

“We would like to support the entire blockchain ecosystem, and in the next few months we’ll be announcing many more exciting partnerships together,” Chen said.

Litecoin is currently the seventh most valuable cryptocurrency by market cap. It is trading at $81.72 levels at the time of writing.

Recent reports suggest that the company is planning to launch the phone around the end of 2018. TechCrunch reported that HTC is partnering with the popular blockchain title CryptoKitties ahead of the launch.
