Tether, Fasanara Launch $400M Stablecoin Private Credit Fund

Tether, Fasanara Launch $400M Stablecoin Private Credit Fund.

Stablecoin giant Tether is expanding deeper into private credit through a partnership with Fasanara Capital, committing $400 million to a new investment vehicle designed to use USDT for cross-border lending.

The companies have launched StableFund, an evergreen private credit fund that is targeting up to $3 billion in additional capital from institutional investors. The initiative combines Tether’s stablecoin infrastructure with Fasanara’s experience in private credit and asset-backed financing.

London-based Fasanara Capital will manage StableFund and invest its capital in short-term, asset-backed loans distributed through financial technology platforms across more than 60 countries. The strategy is primarily aimed at providing financing to small and medium-sized businesses as well as consumers.

Tether will focus on identifying financing opportunities linked to USDT while supplying the digital infrastructure needed to transfer capital internationally. This includes facilitating conversions between traditional currencies and digital dollars, potentially making cross-border lending faster and more efficient.

The partnership represents another step in Tether’s broader diversification beyond its core stablecoin operations. The company has generated substantial profits from the U.S. Treasury securities and other reserves supporting USDT and has increasingly directed capital toward sectors including payments, artificial intelligence, telecommunications and other strategic investments.

USDT remains the dominant stablecoin in the cryptocurrency market. Tether’s token has a market capitalization of approximately $145 billion, representing more than half of the roughly $300 billion global stablecoin sector. The digital asset has also gained significant adoption in emerging markets, where stablecoins are widely used for payments, savings and international transfers.

Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said the company is positioned to source USDT-linked financing opportunities while providing the infrastructure required for efficient cross-border lending.

With StableFund, Tether and Fasanara are seeking to connect stablecoin technology with real-world private credit markets, potentially expanding the role of digital dollars in global business and consumer financing.
