Smartphone maker HTC has released a new teaser of its much-awaited blockchain smartphone “Exodus”.
The company first announced the project in May, saying that the new phone will be “dedicated to decentralized applications [DApps] and security.” Later in June, HTC announced its partnership with the popular blockchain title CryptoKitties.
The new teaser gives a sneak peek into the new phone’s design and displays “10.22” at the end, which is to say that the official announcement on Exodus will be made on October 22.
Previously, Phil Chen, Decentralized Chief Officer at HTC Exodus, had said that they were targeting the end of 2018 to ship the blockchain phone.
Chen had also said, “Through the Exodus, we are also excited to be supporting underlying protocols such as Bitcoin, Lightning Networks, Ethereum, Dfinity, and more.”
Met the HTC Exodus team last week and was really excited to hear the phone will support LTC and Lightning Network on Litecoin natively! I will be an advisor as I see having a secure crypto phone that makes LN simple is needed for mass adoption.

P.S. No, they will not remove BTC. https://t.co/WQcygPVst0
PhoneArena reported that the new phone will cost around $1,000. Its software will be based on Android, with added security protocols and apps which will “handle the necessary encryption for safe handling of the precious coins.”
