Singapore-regulated crypto exchange DigiFT has unveiled the world’s first on-chain index funds with tokenized shares and underlying assets. Licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), DigiFT is teaming up with investment firm Hash Global to launch two innovative index funds—one focused on top AI stocks and another on leading cryptocurrencies.

These funds mark a significant shift from traditional finance by replacing intermediaries like brokers, custodians, and banks with smart contracts and stablecoins. Investors can subscribe to or redeem the funds using USDT or USDC, with real-time visibility into fund holdings via the blockchain, increasing transparency, liquidity, and accessibility.

According to DigiFT CEO Henry Zhang, the move to fully on-chain real-world equities is aimed at "removing inefficiencies and setting a new standard for portfolio management in a blockchain-native environment."

The DigiFT Hash Global AI Index Fund will provide exposure to major AI-related stocks, including Apple, Tesla, and Microsoft, tokenized to reflect their real-time stock value. Meanwhile, the second fund will track top cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Solana (SOL), offering diversified access to the digital asset market.

This pioneering model allows 24/7 fund access, giving institutional and accredited investors enhanced control and flexibility. By leveraging blockchain’s transparency and automation, the funds eliminate legacy friction points, making them a compelling option for forward-thinking investors.

Hash Global emphasized the significance of tokenized equities, calling them "the most important real-world asset to bring on-chain." The launch underscores the rising trend of real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, which is gaining momentum across DeFi and traditional finance sectors alike.

At launch, both index funds will be limited to accredited and institutional investors, signaling a cautious but transformative entry of traditional assets into blockchain-powered investment ecosystems.
