IBM, Citibank, and video game giant Ubisoft have penned a partnership with Singapore-based blockchain accelerator Tribe Accelerator.
According to a report by The Straits Times, the companies have joined as corporate partners for the second edition of Tribe’s 4-month program.
Tribe helps blockchain startups in their growth stage connect with major corporations to introduce their blockchain solutions to market and expand internationally. Their blockchain solutions can either be integrated into existing business units or customized as end-user products for everyday consumers.
Earlier this month, Tribe announced the second cohort of companies to join its program. The group has a diverse portfolio that covers various fields including media and advertising, cybersecurity, healthcare, fintech, and supply chain management.

The new batch has onboarded nine companies, including mobile solutions company Affle Holdings Pte. LTD, Dublin software firm that developed blockchain technology to distribute international aid in refugee camps AID:Tech, customer loyalty management platform Aqilliz, distributed open-source database service Bluzelle, supply chain technology company DiMuto, blockchain-based supply chain empowerment platform Eximchain, database services infrastructure and data privacy provider PILAB, Binance-backed digital identity and password management firm Torus Labs, and digital healthcare provider WhiteCoat.
The inaugural batch of startups finished the program last July and reportedly raised more than $12.2 million within 3 months.
“The success of the inaugural batch far surpassed our initial expectations. By ensuring all parties are aligned with a common objective, it has greatly reduced information overlaps and made solution integration prompt,” Ng Yi Ming, Tribe Accelerator Managing Partner, said.
Since its launch in 2018, Tribe Accelerator has received support from government and corporate partners such as AXA, BMW Group Asia, Intel, R3, Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), Nielsen, PwC, and Temasek.
Just recently, the Centre for Fourth Industrial Revolution in the UAE (C4IR UAE) introduced a blockchain accelerator program, which will be hosted by the Dubai Future Foundation. The move aims to bring together public and private sector entities, including blockchain experts, specialists from the World Economic Forum, and various legislative authorities to employ blockchain-based technologies.
