U.S. President Donald Trump will host a high-profile crypto summit at the White House on March 7, aiming to shape digital asset policies. White House Crypto and AI Czar David Sacks and Bo Hines, head of a working group on digital assets, will lead the event, with Trump delivering a keynote speech.
The summit will bring together top crypto founders, CEOs, investors, and members of the President's Working Group on Digital Assets. While the White House has not disclosed the full attendee list, the event signals a significant shift in U.S. crypto policy under the Trump administration.
Sacks, who made his first public remarks as Trump's crypto czar on Feb. 4, emphasized the importance of keeping crypto innovation within the U.S. "Financial assets are destined to become digital, and we want that value creation to happen here rather than abroad," he said.
The announcement follows major developments in the crypto industry. A federal judge approved the SEC’s motion to withdraw its case against Coinbase, and the agency also dropped investigations into Ethereum incubator ConsenSys and Gemini, co-founded by Cameron Winklevoss. Additionally, the SEC moved to pause its case against the Tron Foundation and Justin Sun.
Trump's administration aims to establish a clear regulatory framework, contrasting with the previous administration’s aggressive enforcement actions. "After unfair prosecutions of the digital asset space, President Trump's policy vision represents a new era for digital financial technology," the White House stated.
The summit underscores the administration’s commitment to fostering innovation and economic freedom in the digital asset sector, marking a potential turning point for crypto regulation in the U.S.
