Galaxy Digital UK, a subsidiary of Mike Novogratz’s digital asset financial services firm, has secured approval from the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to offer derivatives trading. This regulatory green light marks a major step for the company as it expands its footprint in one of the world’s most important financial markets.

With this FCA authorization, Galaxy Digital UK can now offer a wider range of services, including capital raising and investment banking through its Investment Banking division. The subsidiary will also support the firm’s asset management business by distributing funds in the UK market.

Galaxy Digital UK is now officially listed on the FCA’s investment firms register, allowing it to perform MiFID-compliant investment services. The firm has also been part of the FCA’s crypto register since 2021, positioning it as a regulated entity within the UK’s growing digital asset ecosystem.

Leon Marshall, CEO of Galaxy Europe and Global Head of Sales, emphasized the significance of this milestone, stating, “London is a critical financial hub, and this authorisation allows us to deepen our presence in the U.K., aligning with our mission to bridge traditional finance with the digital asset ecosystem.”

The UK continues to emerge as a preferred destination for crypto firms. Coinbase, Bitpanda, and even BlackRock have taken regulatory steps to establish a presence, joining the FCA’s crypto register to operate in the region.

Galaxy Digital’s FCA approval strengthens its position as a leading player in the institutional crypto space, paving the way for broader engagement with traditional financial institutions across Europe and beyond. As regulatory clarity grows, the UK remains a strategic market for digital asset firms looking to scale securely and compliantly.
