GameStop (NYSE: GME) may be preparing to add Bitcoin (BTC) to its balance sheet following the successful completion of its $1.5 billion convertible notes offering. The five-year convertible notes were originally priced at $1.3 billion, with an additional $200 million greenshoe option fully exercised by the initial purchaser. After fees, GameStop netted approximately $1.48 billion, according to a regulatory filing released after the U.S. market closed on Monday.

The announcement comes shortly after GameStop released its fourth-quarter earnings and confirmed the board-approved investment policy revision under CEO Ryan Cohen’s leadership. The update clears the way for the company to allocate capital into Bitcoin, signaling a potential strategic shift toward digital assets.
