Bitcoin Protocol To Complete Taproot Activiation In August 2022

Citing Chainnews, Bitcoin protocol will complete the Taproot upgrade in August 2022, according to the Taproot activation suggestions submitted by Bitcoin developers. Prior to this, the full-node software for Taproot activation and deployment will be released from March 17 to March 31, 2021. Economic majority (the process of miners and node drivers running Bitcoin code) will be upgraded on July 23, 2021. Two weeks after 90% of the Bitcoin hash rate signal supporting the activation of the Bitcoin soft fork Taproot, Taproot will be activated. Economic majority will be enforced.
