TRON co-founder Justin Sun has announced two major partnerships – one with crypto custody firm BitGo and the other with the information security center of State Key Laboratory of Networking and Switching at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT).

BitGo is integrating TRON and will launch support for TRX in its hot wallet and custody solutions next month. TRON said that BitGo’s support will facilitate further institutional adoption for TRX, allowing exchange partners, prime brokers, and futures platforms to custody TRX in a safe and compliant way.

“We are excited to be supported by BitGo, which will enable TRON to further delve into various DeFi applications and we welcome them as a partner,” Sun said.

The alliance with the information security center of State Key Laboratory of Networking and Switching will see both parties working closely in the areas of smart contract based on zero-knowledge proof, homomorphic encryption and others.

“To TRON, this move is of great significance, where TRON Foundation can draw on the expertise of academia to advance the research and development of its protocol. TRON, in turn, will inspire university researches with its cutting-edge technologies. The reinforcing efforts from both the industry and the academia will be sure to advance the block chain sector,” TRON said.

Just recently, TRON signed on as a founding member of the MouseBelt Blockchain Education Alliance alongside Stellar Development Foundation, Hedera, ICON, Ontology, Wanchain, Emurgo, NEM, ETC Labs and others. The objective is to encourage blockchain innovation through education.
