NEO has become the first blockchain organization member to join the Microsoft-created .NET Foundation.
The move will open doors for software developers of the prominent open-source platform to experience NEO’s decentralized toolkit and to develop the foundation for the next-generation Internet.
“As the first blockchain project to join the .NET Foundation, we’re excited to come together based on our shared commitment to open-source, to developers, and to world-wide community collaboration,” John deVadoss, Head of NGD Seattle, said during the announcement of the partnership at the .NET 2019 conference.
The announcement also shared the preview of the recently launched Blockchain Toolkit for .NET and NEO Express. The solution aims to enable users and developers to create innovative dApps and make smart development contracts.
The toolkit features different capabilities including Smart Contract Debugger, Express, Smart Contract Compiler Enhancements, NEO-FX Library, and Visual DevTracker.
“We are very glad to be the first blockchain project joining the .NET Foundation. Moving forward, we anticipate closely collaborating with the .NET Foundation to deliver the most developer-friendly blockchain infrastructure for .NET developers—as exemplified by our recently launched NEO Blockchain Toolkit for .NET,” Erik Zhang, NEO Founder, said.
NEO has also recently launched the EcoBoost initiative, a $100 million fund aimed to promote ecosystem growth with full life cycle support to promising projects. The EcoBoost has already recruited media firms, exchanges, decentralized application (dApp) distribution platforms, and other blockchain-based services, in a bid to build the foundation of the next-gen internet.
