EOS becomes fifth supported cryptocurrency on Coinbase Earn

Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has announced that it has added EOS to Coinbase Earn, its cryptocurrency education rewards program.

The announcement follows the program’s recent expansion to more than 100 countries worldwide. Launched in December 2018, Coinbase Earn allows users to earn cryptocurrencies, while learning about them in a simple and engaging way.

In an online post dated June 02, Coinbase said:

“Starting today, Coinbase customers around the world can earn up to $10 worth of EOS by watching lessons and completing quizzes about EOS and the EOSIO protocol.”

EOS joins other supported cryptocurrencies including Stellar Lumens (XLM), ZCash (ZEC), Basic Attention Token (BAT), and 0x (ZRX).

Coinbase added support for EOS, the sixth largest cryptocurrency by marketcap, on May 30, following its support on Coinbase Pro announced in April. In its announcement, Coinbase said that EOS will be available for customers in most jurisdictions, but will not initially be available for residents of the United Kingdom or the state of New York.

Speaking at a Block.one event on Saturday, Tim Wagner, Coinbase’s vice president of engineering, said that the company will also add support for EOS on Coinbase Custody soon, CoinDesk reported.

Meanwhile, EOS retained the top position in the latest update of China’s cryptocurrency ranking released by China Electronic Information Industry Development (CCID), a research institution under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, last month.

EOS developer Block.one on Saturday announced a new blockchain-based social media platform, called “Voice,” which will reward and return control to social media users. The platform will be launched on the EOS Public Blockchain.
