AgriFORCE Growing Systems (NASDAQ: AGRI), a small-cap agriculture and tech firm, has officially launched its first bitcoin mining operation in Berwyn, Alberta. In partnership with BlueFlare Energy, the site uses stranded natural gas to power 120 bitcoin mining machines, generating over 32 PH/s (petahashes per second) of compute power with 425 kW energy draw.
This off-grid initiative is part of AgriFORCE’s broader strategy to convert underutilized natural gas into energy-backed digital infrastructure. A second phase will expand the site by an additional 200 kW. The deployment includes BlueFlare’s real-time emissions tracking and telemetry systems, positioning the project as both energy-efficient and environmentally conscious.
By monetizing flared gas—typically wasted in oil and gas drilling—AgriFORCE joins a growing number of companies using cost-effective energy alternatives to offset rising mining costs. This model minimizes dependency on traditional power grids and enables rapid deployment of modular infrastructure.
AgriFORCE has already mined seven BTC across its Alberta and Ohio sites and plans to retain up to 50% of its bitcoin holdings while reinvesting the rest into operational expansion. A binding agreement with BlueFlare will bring two more Alberta-based sites online in Oyen and Hinton, potentially adding 1.3 MW of compute capacity. These sites aim to support not only bitcoin mining but also AI inference and edge computing workloads.
With a target of reaching 1 EH/s (exahash per second) by Q1 2026, AgriFORCE is positioning itself at the intersection of sustainable energy use, decentralized infrastructure, and digital asset mining. The firm’s innovative approach leverages unused energy resources to create scalable, off-grid compute solutions in the evolving crypto and AI ecosystem.
