South Korean electronics giant Samsung has unveiled the cryptocurrency wallet for its recently launched flagship phone, the Galaxy S10, CoinDesk reported.
Last month, Samsung introduced a new line of premium smartphones: Galaxy S10, which will include secure storage for cryptocurrency private keys.
The company has now announced the Samsung Blockchain Wallet, which is currently compatible only with ether (ETH) and ethereum-based ERC20 tokens. The wallet app is available for download from the Samsung Galaxy Store on the new smartphones.
At launch, the wallet supports four decentralized apps (dapps) with plans to expand to more devices and cryptocurrencies going forward:
- Crypto gaming platform Enjin
- Beauty content sharing dapp Cosmee
- Crypto collectibles platform CryptoKitties
- Merchant payments service CoinDuck
Last month, Samsung showcased S10’s Blockchain Keystore feature at MWC Barcelona 2019, which will enable users to manage their blockchain private keys. The Blockchain Keystore will reportedly support payments to merchants, digital signatures, and cryptocurrency storage and transfers.
According to CoinDesk Korea, Samsung Blockchain Wallet will be used together with Blockchain Keystore to simplify the transactions process for new users in the crypto space.
