Coffeezilla has unveiled fresh details on the Hawk Tuah memecoin scandal, focusing on insider deals and debunking viral misinformation about lawsuits and profits. The YouTube investigator stresses the importance of sticking to verified facts amid the controversy.
Coffeezilla Demands End to Hawk Tuah Memecoin Misinformation
According to Cointelegraph, YouTuber Stephen Findeisen, alias "Coffeezilla," has demanded an end to the circulation of false information around viral influencer Hailey Welch, or "Hawk Tuah," in the wake of the contentious introduction of her memecoin, HAWK.
“Can yall stop these insane headlines. She didn’t rug for 500M and she didn’t profit $50M,” Coffezilla wrote on X on December 6 to his 638,900 fans.
Apparently, strategic advisors "sold early" before the tokens "got sniped," according to Coffeezilla, who stated that the memecoin team "presold a few million."
This follows the infamous deployment of Welch's Hawk Tuah memecoin on December 5th, which caused widespread uproar on social media due to the token's short pump and dump following sniper and insider wallet accusations.
Viral Rumors of Lawsuits and Insider Sales
Following this, allegations of lawsuits and purported income from memecoin began to circulate online; however, Coffeezilla has consistently dismissed these claims as false.
“Lots to criticize here and I do, but let’s stay to what we know. Team made a few million,” CoffeeZilla stated, adding that the "exact amount" remains a mystery.
"According to Hawk’s lawyer she’s seen $125k and her tokens unlock in a year," he stated.
The exact destination of the funds raised through the presale and transaction fees is "currently unknown," he reported.
Legal Action and Presale Profits Under Scrutiny
At the same time, he said that nobody had gone to court about it:
"“Oh and she isn’t being sued (yet) so literally everything in this post is misinformation.”
This follows a post on Dec. 5 by the American law firm Burwick Law, which advised launch victims to get in touch with the firm to learn about their "legal rights."
In her most recent X post about the issue, which was uploaded on December 5, Welch stated that she was "copy and pasting" preceding the following:
“Hawkanomics: Team hasn’t sold one token and not 1 KOL was given 1 free token. We tried to stop snipers as best we could through high fee’s in the start of launch.”
