Hot on the heels of the launch of the PUBLISH Protocol, TokenPost, a leading blockchain and cryptocurrency media outlet, has taken a step forward and announced a new initiative to bring blockchain benefits to the media industry.
The team has launched “PUBLISH Alliance” – a decentralized non-profit enterprise media consortium which aims to connect media enterprises, technology start-ups, and academic institutions to PUBLISH-related initiatives.
PUBLISH aims to create a global blockchain-powered news publishing platform that fairly rewards all of its participants and serve as a realistic and economically viable model for publishers to adopt and build on. Based on NEM blockchain, it seeks to significantly enhance the existing media structure to make it more self-sustaining.
The Alliance has been launched with the objective of re-establishing the financial viability of independent newsrooms and restoring journalistic integrity. It hopes to re-instill journalistic confidence by helping the industry transition from traditional digital media to a novel blockchain-based solution incentivizing news production and consumption.
The consortium also plans to establish an international standard for blockchain-based media platforms and spearhead its adoption and evolution. Publishers will be provided with a new media platform to connect with the larger audience so as to increase reader engagement.
“Having identified the need to tokenize the media industry, the next step for us was to bring the industry together to leverage blockchain technology. PUBLISH Alliance will work towards addressing the problems that currently plague this sector,” Sonny Kwon, CEO of the PUBLISH Protocol, said in a statement.
Members joining the PUBLISH Alliance will receive a host of benefits, including free access to TokenPost News and Data Feed, a co-initiative by TokenPost International and TokenPost Korea providing professional blockchain and crypto news and data coverage. They will also gain access to contents produced by contributing Alliance members, NEWS Tokens, the open source code of the PUBLISH Protocol, dedicated technical support, an invitation to offline events, along with the opportunity to host PUBLISH Alliance events.
The registration process can be completed by filling this form. For more information about the PUBLISH Alliance, see this document or email [email protected]
