South Korean tech giant Samsung, which has been making inroads into the blockchain and cryptocurrency sphere, has announced the beta launch of its blockchain Software Development Kit (SDK).
In an online post, the company said that the Samsung Blockchain SDK will provide a full set of functions to meet the Decentralized App (DApp) or Blockchain App needs.
The SDK allows for easy management of accounts and their backup, facilitation of payment activity and digital signatures, enablement of Samsung KeyStore and other cold wallets, among others.
“Samsung Blockchain SDK is a superset of all SDKs,” Samsung said. “Samsung Blockchain SDK is available to communicate with external blockchain node providing payment solution. It can reduce costs to build your dapp except in case if you have your own wallet logics already.”
The company said that the official version of Samsung Blockchain SDK will be announced by the end of 2019, adding:
“In the meantime, developers can request a partnership to use the beta version of the Samsung Blockchain SDK.”
Last month, Samsung revealed its interest in collaborating with platform companies engaged in areas such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, and sixth-generation mobile networks, among others. In addition, its subsidiary, Samsung SDS, proposed solutions to address the common pain points faced by customers in adopting blockchain technology.
Just recently, Samsung released six new dApps to be integrated into the blockchain wallet of its Galaxy S10. This includes The Hunters, MyCryptoHeroes, Berry Pick, Pundi X’s X-Wallet, Syrup Table, Misetoktok.
