Publicis Sapient, the digital transformation hub of Publicis Groupe, has announced the appointment of Priya Bajoria as Senior Vice President, Financial Services & Digital Transformation Leader.

Bajoria has extensive experience in industry transformation utilizing digital technologies and innovation with a unique background in consulting and investment banking. Prior to joining Publicis Sapient, she led Infosys’ North American capital markets business and before that she was an Investment Banker with Merrill Lynch in Asia.

“I am really excited to be at Publicis Sapient, a firm that has been a pioneer in digitally business transformation. I am looking forward to bringing the best of these capabilities to Financial Services clients to help them become digitally enabled to better serve their end-customers,” Bajoria told TokenPost.

She is a champion of diversity in organizations, a sponsor/ mentor of women’s leadership networks and actively volunteers for corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Speaking about the participation of women in the financial sector, Bajoria said that she has seen Investment Banking and Consulting/Technology evolving to being “more open to recognizing and rewarding talent regardless of gender/ ethnicity.”

“In addition to putting in a lot of hard work to becoming the best at what you do, finding great coaches/ mentors along the way, has certainly helped all the women leaders I know,” she added.

Publicis Sapient is a digital transformation partner that helps established organizations achieve their future, digitally-enabled state, both in the way they work and the way they serve their customers. It brings a startup mindset and agile methods to both established companies and the public sector to unlock value in ways that enhance customer experience and improve their operational effectiveness.

Expressing her views on the key technologies that would drive digital transformation globally, Bajoria said:

“We can already see the impact of speed and reach of mobile connectivity as well as use cases of technologies that enable automation driven efficiencies, significant advances in data crunching and visualization leveraging artificial intelligence, machine learning. More innovation is needed in data security to stay ahead of the curve. Usage of voice, wearables and augmented reality is still evolving.”

With regards to blockchain technology, Bajoria said the technology has the potential to be transformative over the next few years.

“We have partnered with many clients in doing proofs of concepts leveraging blockchain or distributed ledger technology (DLT) where it is in trade finance or a complex piece of the clearing and settlement lifecycle. This has the potential to be transformative over the next few years and the industry is collaborating with regulators to move in that direction,” she said.

It can be recalled that in July, Publicis Sapient and Microsoft supported the launch of Anglo-Gulf Trade Bank (AGTB), which claims to be the world’s first end-to-end digital trade bank. AGTB leverages blockchain technology to offer clients control over simple, streamlined and highly transparent processes while analyzing data to mitigate risk effectively.
