Crypto trader DonAlt has outlined a technical Ethereum price target of $10,000, although the veteran analyst says he is unlikely to hold his ETH position long enough to see that level.
DonAlt, who gained attention for accurately anticipating XRP’s major 2024–2025 rally, recently shared details of his Ethereum trade on X. According to the trader, he entered a long ETH position at approximately $1,900 on Aug. 13, despite acknowledging that buying near resistance during a consolidating market typically conflicts with traditional technical analysis.
He explained that psychology played a significant role in the decision. Rather than remaining completely out of the market while waiting for a better entry, DonAlt preferred establishing a position at what he considered a less-than-ideal price.
The trader also indicated that he would consider increasing his Ethereum exposure if ETH falls toward the $1,700 support area.
When discussing potential Ethereum price targets, DonAlt offered three different levels. His official target stands at $4,000, while his broader macro outlook suggests ETH could eventually reach $10,000. Despite those bullish projections, DonAlt jokingly admitted that he would probably take profits once Ethereum reaches approximately $3,000.
Selling at $3,000 after entering near $1,900 would represent a gain of roughly 57%, highlighting the trader’s preference for securing substantial profits rather than waiting indefinitely for more ambitious price targets.
That cautious approach may reflect DonAlt’s previous experience with XRP. Before XRP’s 2024–2025 rally, he correctly anticipated a move from around $0.50 to $3.50, representing an approximately 600% increase. His highest XRP target was $6.90, but the cryptocurrency reversed before reaching that level.
DonAlt’s latest Ethereum outlook therefore combines significant long-term optimism with disciplined profit-taking. While the technical picture may leave room for an eventual ETH rally toward $10,000, his own strategy demonstrates the difference between identifying a theoretical price target and deciding when to actually exit a profitable crypto trade.
