Ethereum Shows Early Recovery Signs But Faces Key Resistance at $2,400

Ethereum is beginning to show signs of life after a prolonged bearish stretch, but analysts caution that a confirmed bullish reversal is far from guaranteed. Over the past 24 hours, ETH price action has gravitated toward the $2,300–$2,400 range, a critical resistance zone that has repeatedly rejected upward momentum in recent months.

On the technical side, Ethereum is forming a short-term recovery structure marked by higher lows, suggesting that buyers are gradually stepping in. However, ETH continues to trade below its major moving averages, which remain in a downward trend and are acting as dynamic resistance. Every rally attempt so far has stalled at these levels, and the current move appears to be no different — at least for now.

The $2,400 level carries significant weight both psychologically and technically. It aligns with a confluence of moving averages and a previous support zone that has since flipped to resistance. Until Ethereum can break above this level and sustain it, the ongoing price action is best characterized as a relief rally rather than the beginning of a new bull run.

Trading volume has picked up modestly during this push, but not enough to signal meaningful accumulation. The buying pressure observed appears measured and cautious, lacking the conviction typically associated with the start of a sustainable uptrend. Strong bull markets are built on high-volume breakouts, and that ingredient is still missing.

A decisive close above $2,400 would be a meaningful shift. It would demonstrate that buyers have enough strength to absorb overhead supply, flip resistance into support, and break the current sequence of lower highs that defines the broader downtrend.

Until that breakout materializes, downside risks remain. ETH could consolidate or revisit lower support levels if resistance holds. The market isn't trending — it's transitioning.
