Pump.fun’s $4B Token Sale Sells Out in 12 Minutes Despite Declining Volume

Solana-based memecoin platform Pump.fun has completed its token sale, pricing 125 billion PUMP tokens at $0.004 each—implying a fully diluted valuation of $4 billion. The public sale, representing 12.5% of the total 1 trillion token supply, sold out in just 12 minutes. This followed a prior private allocation of 18%.

Token buyers will need to wait 48–72 hours to receive their PUMP tokens, which remain locked until distribution concludes, preventing any transfers or trades. The team also published the official Solana contract address (pumpCmXqMfrsAkQ5r49WcJnRayYRqmXz6ae8H7H9Dfn) and cautioned users to avoid counterfeit tokens.

Pump.fun allows users to mint and list tokens instantly. Once trading thresholds are met, these tokens are listed on decentralized exchanges. Despite the hype surrounding the token launch, platform metrics show a sharp decline in activity. According to DeFiLlama, Pump.fun’s launchpad volume fell from $11.6 billion in January to $3.65 billion last month. Revenue also dropped from $133 million to $34 million during the same period.

However, Pump.fun’s decentralized exchange, PumpSwap, launched in March, has partially offset the slump. It recorded $14.3 billion in trading volume in May and $10 billion in June, generating $7 million and $5 million in revenue respectively.

Token allocation includes 20% for the core team, 24% for community and ecosystem growth, 13% for existing investors, 2.6% for liquidity, 2.4% for an ecosystem fund, and the remainder earmarked for foundation and streaming incentives.

Despite the decline in launchpad usage, strong demand for the PUMP token highlights ongoing interest in memecoin infrastructure and decentralized token launches on Solana.
