Chronicle, a blockchain data provider specializing in tokenized assets, has raised $12 million in a seed round led by Strobe Ventures (formerly BlockTower Capital). Other prominent investors include Galaxy Vision Hill, Brevan Howard Digital, Tioga Capital, and Fenbushi Capital. The round also attracted top crypto figures like Rune Christensen (MakerDAO), Andre Cronje (Yearn, Sonic), Stani Kulechov (Aave), Mark Phillips (Steakhouse), and Sam MacPherson (Phoenix Labs).
Launched in 2017, Chronicle functions as an oracle network that delivers real-time, verified data for blockchain-based financial products. The platform has already secured over $20 billion in total value and continues to scale to meet growing demand. Its latest innovation, the "Verified Asset Oracle," ensures the legitimacy of off-chain assets for issuers such as Centrifuge, Superstate, and M^0.
As financial institutions ramp up efforts to tokenize real-world assets (RWA), Chronicle’s infrastructure offers a crucial layer of reliability, compliance, and transparency. “Chronicle's trusted data infrastructure provides the reliability and compliance capability these institutions require,” said Thomas Klocanas, general partner at Strobe Ventures.
With tokenized assets projected to become a multitrillion-dollar market by 2030, according to McKinsey and BCG, Chronicle is positioning itself as a key player in bridging traditional finance and blockchain. Its validator network includes both established financial data providers and crypto-native organizations like Sky (formerly MakerDAO), ensuring high-integrity data feeds.
The fresh funding will be used to enhance product development, forge new partnerships, and reinforce compliance, helping Chronicle scale its mission of integrating secure, auditable, and cost-efficient off-chain data into the world of digital assets.
Chronicle’s rise underscores the growing importance of real-time, verified data in the rapidly expanding tokenization ecosystem.
