The official launch event of the European Commission-supported International Association for Trusted Blockchain Applications (INATBA) was held on April 03 in Brussels.
The initiative is backed by 105 founding members, which include tech companies and blockchain startups, non-profits, and business and sectoral associations, among others. This includes IBM, SAP, Accenture, Ripple, Bitfury, R3, SWIFT, Volksbank Mittweida eG, and others.
In her keynote speech at the launch event, European Commissioner for the Digital Economy and Society Mariya Gabriel said:
“We are thrilled to see that over 100 companies and organizations have partnered together to help develop the framework for distributed ledger technologies in Europe.
“It clearly signifies that blockchain technology will be a driving force for our economy in the coming years, and through INATBA we will be able to foster an environment that encourages the application of the technology across the EU member states.”
According to the official website, the joint declaration on the establishment of INATBA was hashed by the Commissioner:

A number of founding members have announced that that the INATBA declaration was registered on multiple blockchains, including Bitcoin and Ethereum:
“Using Overledger, with a single transaction we have written the INATBA hash on to Ethereum, Ripple and Bitcoin,” Quant Network said.
“INATBA declaration was registered on multiple blockchains, including Bitcoin and Ethereum, via the Compellio Registry ensuring full GDPR compliance. Users that have access to the Registry service can now verify the existence and access all relevant proofs, validations and metadata of the registration,” Compellio said.
Hash declaration ceremony of #INATBA will happen at 2:30pm today and @compellio is proud to showcase registration via the Compellio Registry platform: https://t.co/S0UXqBmI5c pic.twitter.com/PdmcXZojBD
