SecuX releases ADA, BSC, and WalletConnect support for its Crypto Hardware Wallets

Tue, 05 Oct 2021, 08:00 am UTC

On the first day of 2021, Cardano (ADA) was only priced at $0.1753. After a sustained rally in July/August 2021, Ada became the third-largest cryptocurrency by market cap (following Bitcoin and Ethereum, respectively), and was priced at $2.8 at its highest point. Since Ada is one of the fastest growing chains, SecuX is riding on that wave.

Hardware vs Software Wallet

Storing your valuable assets online or in software wallets can be very risky as a lot of thefts and hacks can and have happened in online exchanges and software wallets. A hardware wallet is essential in keeping your cryptocurrencies safe because it’s only connected to the internet when it’s making a transaction. Aside from that, the wallet is in a constant state of no connection, in or out, and it basically eliminates any risk of your private key from being hacked. Most hardware wallets also have security features that protect your private key.

SecuX

SecuX is a taiwan-based blockchain company that makes Best Cross-Platform Crypto Hardware Wallets, awarded by CV Magazine, and the world’s first revolutionary crypto payment solution, Stream.

With its already impressive coin-support list, SecuX released one of its biggest updates of the year, Firmware version MCU 2.13 and SE version 1.87, on July 29, 2021. The update included brand new features, such as WalletConnect, Binance Smart Chain, and Ada Portal, along with the brand new user interface of their SecuXess web application. The new support allows SecuX wallet users to access a wide range of DeFi Apps such as Opensea and Uniswap, the receiving, sending and staking of Cardano ADA and BEP-20 tokens.

SecuX Hardware Wallets

All SecuX models come with a large 2.8” color touchscreen, vault-grade protection, account recoverability, and multiple cryptocurrency support, and Bluetooth capability (with the exception of the W10). SecuX wallets will also require a One Time Password (OTP) when connecting via Bluetooth to ensure security. Bluetooth 5 has AES encryption that encrypts sensitive data while transmitting. The large display that SecuX wallet offers also comes into play where you are able to verify all the details easily during a transaction.

The wallets are also equipped with an Infineon SLE solid Flash CC EAL5+ Secure Element chip, which is used to securely store your unique PIN and Private Key. It enables zero transaction leakage and your transactions are verified without the private key ever leaving the device. The Infineon Secure Element Chip also comes with a security feature: self-destructive mechanism when exposed to light, in case someone wants to break into your wallet and steal the data inside.

Ada Portal

Ada Portal is SecuX’s newly launched platform dedicated to the receiving, sending and staking of Cardano ADA. It is accessed via the SecuXess web application, and connection verification will be required while switching from one to the other for extra security measures.

Binance Smart Chain

The release of support for BEP-20 tokens also comes as no surprise as SecuX wallets already support Binance and other smart contract chains such as Ethereum’s ERC-20 and Tron’s TRC-10 and TRC-20.

Binance Smart Chain runs in parallel with Binance’s native Binance Chain, which allows users to get the best of both worlds: the high transaction capacity of Binance and the smart contract functionality of Binance Smart Chain. This also paves the way for SecuX to support BSC for its Wallet Connect functionality in the future.

Wallet Connect

WalletConnect is an open protocol for connecting desktop Dapps to mobile Wallets using end-to-end encryption by scanning a QR code. With Wallet Connect integrated with SecuX devices, users can interact with any Dapp without compromising their private keys and will be able to verify and sign transactions using their iOS device. SecuX Wallet Connect functionality is only available to users using the SecuX iOS app, with the Android option available on a later date.

SecuX wallets currently support more than 1,000 different coins and tokens, including major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano, Ripple, Litecoin, Dash, Dogecoin, Digibyte, Bitcoin Cash, Tron, Groestlcoin, Stellar, Binance, all ERC-20 tokens, TRC-10 and TRC-20 tokens, and BEP-20 tokens.
