MouseBelt, a full-service blockchain accelerator and startup studio, has announced a new initiative to encourage blockchain innovation through education.
Called the Blockchain Education Alliance, the initiative builds upon MouseBelt’s University Program, which comprises a network of over 67 student blockchain organizations in 14 countries. It can be recalled that MouseBelt launched its blockchain education programs at UC Davis, UC Los Angeles, and UC Santa Barbara in August this year.
MouseBelt said that the new initiative is part of its third semester of the University Program launched last week.
As per an official announcement, the alliance’s founding members include Stellar Development Foundation, TRON, Hedera, ICON, Ontology, Wanchain, Harmony One, Nervos, Orbs, LTO Network, Emurgo, NEM, and ETC Labs. MouseBelt said that 15 more members will be announced in the near future.
The consortium members will work together to provide university students with connections and knowledge to help them enter the workforce with practicable blockchain skills and contribute to the growing industry.
“Under MouseBelt’s leadership, the Blockchain Education Alliance will cultivate a network of 20 leaders in both industry and academia to jointly develop educational initiatives to accelerate mass adoption of blockchain technology,” the announcement reads.
The alliance will organize meet-ups, face-to-face meetings, hackathons, and more to support collaboration. Participating members can also engage with researchers to develop new use cases to address specific challenges within their industry.
“Developers, platforms, and protocols can help deploy real-world pilots of innovative solutions in collaboration with students, researchers, and MouseBelt’s development shop. Member organizations will also be eligible to receive training and resources to further their knowledge of blockchain,” it added.
