Digital Isle of Man, an executive agency of the Department for Enterprise, has announced that the recently announced Blockchain Office and Sandbox are now open and are ready to receive joining applications.
In February 2019, the agency established a Blockchain Office and an Isle of Man Blockchain Sandbox with the objective of helping blockchain businesses navigate the island’s current and future regulatory landscapes, with expert-led assistance and support.
“The response to the launch of the Blockchain Office and Sandbox has been tremendous, with a number of premium blockchain businesses and emerging starts-ups approaching the Office for early participation already. There are no signs of interest slowing, and we look forward to collaborating with the pioneers driving blockchain innovation,” Lyle Wraxall, CEO of Digital Isle of Man, said.
The sandbox will give businesses a live test environment, the ability to run pilots, a restricted licence prior to production, early feedback, and alignment with modern software development.
According to the official release, participants will be selected on the basis of a robust selection process. Early participants would not be charged fees for the facility.
“The Isle of Man is committed to becoming a leading international hub for blockchain businesses, providing them with a fully supportive and collaborative environment to flourish in,” Wraxall added.
