Pi Network (PI) price rose 1.55% on August 14 to trade near $0.089, while trading volume increased 13%, according to CoinMarketCap data. Despite the modest price gain, several technical and sentiment indicators suggest the Pi Network price could be preparing for a stronger bullish move.
Crypto analyst Kim Wong highlighted two positive signals surrounding PI. The token reportedly ranks second among cryptocurrencies with the strongest bullish sentiment on CoinMarketCap and fifth among the platform’s most-viewed coins. Growing attention and positive trader sentiment could support further gains.
PI’s one-hour chart also presents a potentially bullish setup. The price has tested the upper Bollinger Band around $0.089, and a sustained close above this level could indicate strengthening upward momentum.
The improved sentiment follows Pi Network’s ninth protocol upgrade, completed on August 11. Only one additional upgrade remains before the blockchain is fully updated with its planned improvements. Analyst Ben also noted that although PI has fallen from around $0.20 in January 2026, network activity has expanded following the introduction of smart contracts, a decentralized exchange and a launchpad.
However, derivatives data provides a more cautious signal. Pi Network open interest has declined from $41.85 million on July 16 to $26.25 million, even as PI climbed from $0.0768 to around $0.089. The divergence indicates that speculative participation remains relatively weak. Meanwhile, positive OKX funding rates for three consecutive days suggest long traders still dominate market positioning.
On the daily chart, PI is forming an ascending triangle, with $0.092 acting as the key resistance level. A confirmed breakout above this price could potentially trigger a 25% rally based on the pattern’s measured move, placing the Pi Network price target near $0.115.
The Chaikin Money Flow reading of 0.15 reinforces the bullish Pi Network price prediction by showing sustained buying pressure. However, the Relative Strength Index remains neutral at 49. A move above 50 and a higher RSI peak would provide stronger confirmation that bullish momentum is accelerating.
