Pi Network (PI) extended its weekly gains on Wednesday as growing trading activity and positive ecosystem developments strengthened investor confidence. The cryptocurrency has climbed more than 10% over the past seven days, while 24-hour trading volume jumped 75% to approximately $11.5 million, reflecting renewed market interest.
A major catalyst behind the rally is the upcoming Protocol 26 upgrade, which is scheduled for the Pi Mainnet. All node operators must complete the required update before the August 11 deadline to remain connected to the network. The upgrade represents another milestone in Pi Network's ongoing technical development, following eight recent improvements. With Protocols 26 and 27 expected to further modernize the network, many traders see the update as a positive step toward broader adoption.
Adding to the bullish sentiment, Pi Network has expanded its real-world utility through a partnership with RoboPay, announced by the Fabric Foundation. The collaboration enables users to pay for robotic services using PI tokens, including autonomous deliveries, security patrols, inspections, and AI-powered assistance. The announcement contributed to another boost in buying interest, helping PI extend its weekly advance.
The rise in trading volume alongside higher prices suggests stronger participation from buyers, giving additional credibility to the recent rally. Meanwhile, the broader cryptocurrency market also moved higher, creating a supportive backdrop for Pi Network's recovery.
From a technical perspective, PI is trading around $0.087 and approaching a key resistance level at $0.090. A decisive breakout above this level could pave the way for a move toward $0.10, with the next major upside target near $0.1145, representing a potential gain of roughly 30% from current prices.
Technical indicators also favor the bulls. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) has climbed to 62.57, remaining comfortably above the neutral 50 level, while the MACD indicator has generated a bullish crossover as the MACD line moved above the signal line.
However, if PI fails to break above $0.090, the token may continue consolidating between $0.082 and $0.090 until stronger buying momentum emerges. Investors will likely monitor the Protocol 26 rollout and expanding ecosystem partnerships for clues about Pi Network's next price direction.
