Ethereum (ETH) surged to $2,601 on July 2, following a 6.49% rally from $2,413 within 24 hours, according to CoinDesk Research. The breakout came after 16 hours of consolidation between $2,380 and $2,460, signaling renewed bullish momentum supported by institutional interest and rising ETF inflows.

The rally coincides with a growing narrative around Ethereum’s role in tokenized finance. On June 30, Robinhood announced it is building “Robinhood Chain” on Arbitrum, Ethereum’s leading Layer-2 network, to power the future of asset ownership. The Ethereum Foundation amplified this message, posting: “Ethereum is for tokenized stocks.”

Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan echoed the sentiment, predicting stronger flows into Ethereum ETFs in the second half of 2025. “Stablecoins and tokenized stocks on Ethereum are a simple, powerful narrative for traditional investors,” he said. In June alone, Ethereum ETFs saw $1.17 billion in net inflows.

Ethereum's positioning as the base layer for real-world asset tokenization is further strengthened by nearly 30% of ETH supply being locked in staking, rising Layer-2 adoption, and increasing use cases involving stablecoins and tokenized equities. Analysts say these factors are drawing more institutional capital into the Ethereum ecosystem.

Technical indicators remain strong. ETH gained 2.44% at 16:00 UTC on July 2 with trading volume spiking 3.5x above average. Buyers defended support at $2,554 despite some profit-taking, and the session closed near highs at $2,577, signaling sustained bullish pressure. The next major resistance level is seen at $2,800, a potential catalyst for further gains.

As Ethereum’s narrative around tokenized finance gains traction, analysts expect continued momentum into H2 2025.
