Michael Saylor’s Bitcoin-focused firm, Strategy, is on the verge of a historic milestone, nearing 500,000 BTC holdings. As of Feb. 23, 2025, the company holds 499,096 BTC, acquired for approximately $33.1 billion at an average price of $66,357 per Bitcoin. With just 904 BTC left to reach the milestone, an $80 million investment at current prices could push Strategy past the half-million mark.

Despite the ongoing market volatility, Bitcoin saw a sharp decline, dropping to $82,111 from a high of $89,305 before rebounding near $86,000. At the time of writing, BTC was trading at $86,026, down 1.1% in the last 24 hours.

Strategy’s Bitcoin holdings surged this week following a major $1.99 billion BTC purchase using funds from last week’s convertible bond sale. The company acquired 20,356 BTC at an average price of $97,514 per Bitcoin, marking one of its largest purchases since it began accumulating BTC in 2020. This follows a pattern of weekly Bitcoin acquisitions since late October.

Saylor’s aggressive Bitcoin strategy has significantly increased Strategy’s holdings, now valued at $47.7 billion, accounting for over 2.5% of Bitcoin’s total supply. The company plans to raise $42 billion by 2027 through stock sales and fixed-income instruments to continue its Bitcoin accumulation.

Last week alone, Strategy’s treasury operations added 12,520 BTC, boosting its holdings by over $1 billion. As one of the largest corporate Bitcoin holders, Strategy remains a key player in institutional Bitcoin adoption, with Saylor doubling down on his long-term bullish outlook.
