BlackRock CEO Sees Market Drop as Long-Term Buying Opportunity.

BlackRock CEO Larry Fink believes the recent market downturn presents a long-term buying opportunity, despite warning that markets could fall another 20%. Speaking at the Economic Club of New York, Fink said the current drawdown does not reflect systemic risk, emphasizing that while further declines are possible, long-term investors should view this as a favorable entry point.

“I see it more as a buying opportunity than a selling opportunity, but that doesn’t mean we can’t go down further,” Fink stated, highlighting persistent inflation as a key concern. He added that inflation remains higher than most market participants expect, and many already believe the U.S. economy is in a recession. As such, Fink doesn’t foresee the Federal Reserve cutting interest rates in 2025.

Last month, Fink also addressed concerns over Bitcoin (BTC), warning in a shareholder letter that growing trust in cryptocurrency could weaken the U.S. dollar if Americans begin viewing Bitcoin as a safer store of value. His comments reflect a broader narrative about digital assets potentially disrupting traditional financial systems.

Market volatility has intensified following the announcement of new U.S. tariffs by former President Donald Trump. Cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, have been hit hard—BTC is down 5% over the past five days and 11% over the past month. Equities have suffered even more, with the S&P 500 dropping 13% and the Nasdaq plunging 15% in the same period.

Despite short-term turbulence, Fink’s message is clear: investors should remain cautious but optimistic, particularly those with a long-term horizon. His outlook reinforces growing sentiment that periods of volatility often present strong accumulation opportunities for both traditional and digital asset investors.
