Global cryptocurrency investment products saw a surge in net inflows, reaching $1.3 billion last week—nearly doubling the $747.4 million from the previous week. This marks the fifth consecutive week of inflows, bringing the year-to-date total to $7.3 billion, according to CoinShares.

The surge occurred despite a sharp market downturn triggered by President Trump’s tariff announcements, which sent Bitcoin tumbling over 10% to around $91,500 on February 3. Ether plunged 36% to $2,100, while leading memecoins fell 40%. Despite these declines, assets under management only dropped from a January peak of $181 billion to $163 billion, with weekly trading volumes holding steady at $20 billion.

Bitcoin rebounded above $100,000 after reports that tariffs on Mexico and Canada would be suspended for a month following diplomatic agreements. However, market pressures resurfaced when China retaliated with tariffs on U.S. goods.

Bitcoin-based funds attracted $407 million in net inflows, now accounting for 7.1% of Bitcoin’s market cap. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs contributed $203.8 million. Ethereum funds outperformed Bitcoin for the first time this year, bringing in $793 million, with U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs accounting for $420.2 million.

Other altcoins also saw positive inflows, with XRP-based funds adding $21 million and Solana funds $11 million. The U.S. led with $1 billion in regional inflows, followed by Germany ($61M), Switzerland ($54M), and Canada ($37M).

Despite volatility, investor interest in crypto remains strong, particularly in Bitcoin and Ethereum funds, signaling confidence in long-term market growth.
