Ethena Launches Pay App as ENA Jumps 9%. Source: Photo by Mikhail Nilov

Ethena (ENA) is expanding beyond its yield-focused stablecoin business with the launch of Ethena Pay, a consumer finance app designed to combine crypto savings, payments and international money transfers in a single platform.

Ethena announced that Ethena Pay went live on Apple’s App Store on Tuesday, describing the product as an “internet money neobank.” The app offers a 6% dollar savings rate alongside 5% cashback on card purchases, positioning stablecoins as an alternative to traditional banking products.

Users can access free dollar, pound and euro onramps, support for local currencies and fiat international bank account numbers (IBANs) connected to self-custodial stablecoin accounts. The platform is intended to make it easier for customers to save, spend and transfer funds without repeatedly moving assets between cryptocurrency wallets, exchanges and bank accounts.

ENA, Ethena’s native cryptocurrency, climbed about 9% following the announcement, outperforming a largely flat broader crypto market.

The launch represents another stage in Ethena’s expansion beyond the crypto basis trade that originally generated returns for USDe (USDE), its synthetic dollar token with approximately $4 billion in circulation. Ethena recently revised ENA’s token economics and revealed plans to incorporate equity perpetuals as an additional source of returns for USDe.

Earlier in 2026, Ethena also introduced a savings product with Coinbase, giving its dollar-based products access to another major distribution channel through an exchange serving more than 100 million users.

Ethena Pay takes the strategy further by connecting savings directly with everyday spending. One feature, called “Buy Now Pay Never,” is designed to allow savings rewards to cover purchases while preserving a user’s principal balance.

Avalanche (AVAX) has been selected as the exclusive settlement network for Ethena Pay. The blockchain will process transfers, payments, money movement and settlement, marking a notable expansion beyond Ethena’s historically Ethereum-centered infrastructure.

Availability remains limited during the initial rollout. Ethena is launching the app with 400 early-access users and plans to increase access each week as Ethena Pay progresses out of beta throughout September.
