Peter Brandt Eyes $100K Investment in XRP or Solana, Seeks Community Input

Legendary commodities trader Peter Brandt has sparked excitement in the crypto space by revealing plans to invest $100,000 in either XRP or Solana (SOL) this week. Brandt, known for his technical charting expertise, has asked the community to help him decide between the two tokens, firmly stating that no other options are being considered.

Brandt’s technical analysis of XRP highlights a large symmetrical triangle pattern, with a notable breakout above the upper trendline following a significant rally in late 2024. This marks a surprising shift in sentiment, as Brandt previously criticized XRP, labeling it a scam and predicting its collapse. However, in January, he extended an olive branch to XRP holders, acknowledging past hostility.

On the other hand, Brandt's Solana chart suggests a bullish “Cup and Handle” pattern. The "cup" formed between late 2021 and mid-2024, while the "handle" began shaping up in early 2025. He forecasts a potential SOL price surge, targeting between $518 and $707.

Both the XRP and Solana communities have responded enthusiastically, sharing charts and urging Brandt to support their preferred asset. Currently, XRP and Solana rank fourth and sixth by market capitalization, according to CoinGecko.

Adding to their appeal, both tokens are strong contenders for future U.S. spot ETFs, with analytics firm Kaiko suggesting XRP might have the edge. The Chicago-based CME Group also recently launched regulated futures for both XRP and SOL, enhancing institutional interest.

With Brandt's backing and ongoing ETF discussions, XRP and Solana continue to dominate investor attention, reinforcing their status as leading altcoins in 2025.
