Bitget has introduced a new crypto derivatives product that bridges traditional finance (TradFi) and digital assets by launching what it describes as the industry's first TradFi Quanto Perpetual Futures. The new offering allows users to trade select non-U.S. stocks using USDT as collateral, removing the need for foreign currency conversions.
The first contract available is MINIMAXHKDUSDT, which tracks the Hong Kong-listed artificial intelligence company MiniMax. Traders can access the contract with leverage of up to 20x, while all margin requirements, funding payments, and realized profits or losses are settled entirely in USDT.
Unlike conventional stock trading, the contract follows the stock's local market price while keeping transactions denominated in USDT. Bitget said the pricing model assigns a 1:1 numerical value between the stock price and USDT, enabling users to gain exposure to price movements without dealing with exchange rate fluctuations.
Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said the launch expands the use of Quanto contracts beyond crypto assets into traditional financial markets.
"Quanto contracts are not new in crypto derivatives, but no major exchange has applied the structure to traditional financial assets until now," Chen said. She added that the product removes currency conversion barriers, allowing traders holding USDT to access Hong Kong and other non-U.S. stocks as easily as they trade Bitcoin.
According to Bitget, the new structure also helps eliminate the foreign exchange risk typically associated with investing in overseas equities, since traders only deposit and withdraw USDT while gains and losses are calculated in the stablecoin.
The MINIMAXHKDUSDT perpetual contract trades 24 hours a day, with funding payments settled every eight hours.
The launch comes as demand for perpetual futures continues to grow. According to TokenInsight's Q2 2026 Crypto Exchange Report, Bitget recorded approximately $70 billion in perpetual trading volume during the first half of the year. The report also noted that equity-based perpetual contracts were the fastest-growing segment, with Bitget generating around $69 billion in TradFi perpetual trading volume during the second quarter and securing an 11.01% market share, ranking second among crypto exchanges.
