Polymarket, the leading prediction markets platform, has acquired Brahma, a blockchain financial infrastructure company known for building real-time execution and settlement systems for high-volume digital asset transactions. The move signals Polymarket's commitment to strengthening its technical backbone as it eyes aggressive growth.

Brahma built a strong reputation developing programmable systems across blockchain networks, trading execution, and payment rails — capabilities Polymarket sees as critical to scaling its ecosystem. "Building reliable infrastructure across blockchain networks and traditional financial rails is hard — there are no shortcuts," said Shayne Coplan, Polymarket's CEO and founder, emphasizing that the acquisition was driven by Brahma's proven ability to design and operate complex products for sophisticated users. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Brahma, which processed over $1 billion in transaction volume and maintained more than $100 million in total value locked, confirmed the acquisition in a statement on X, noting that its team and technology would continue under Polymarket's roof. However, all existing Brahma products — including Brahma Accounts, Agents, and Swype.fun — are being phased out within 30 days. Affected users are advised to migrate their funds and positions through official channels immediately.

This acquisition comes at a pivotal moment for Polymarket. Earlier in March 2025, reports surfaced that the platform was exploring fundraising discussions that could push its valuation to approximately $20 billion — double its previous estimate — though those talks remain in early stages.

The broader prediction markets sector continues attracting major players, with companies like Coinbase and Robinhood now entering the space. By integrating Brahma's infrastructure expertise, Polymarket positions itself to meet rising demand and maintain its competitive edge as user activity and transaction volumes grow across crypto-native and mainstream audiences alike.
