Fanatics is taking its next major step beyond sports merchandise and collectibles by launching Fanatics Markets, a real-money prediction platform rolling out across 24 U.S. states. The company confirmed on Tuesday that the app is already live in 10 states and will expand to major markets including California, Texas, Florida and Washington in the coming days. The move positions Fanatics to compete directly with leading prediction platforms such as Polymarket and Kalshi, both of which have seen massive growth and multi-billion-dollar valuations.
Fanatics Markets allows users to trade on the outcomes of real-world events, offering contracts linked to sports results, political decisions and economic developments. The company plans wider expansion of available markets by early 2026, including predictions on crypto prices, tech breakthroughs, IPOs, entertainment releases and more. With demand rising for real-time forecasting tools and event-based trading, Fanatics is betting that its massive existing audience of sports fans will help bring prediction markets to the mainstream.
A key element of the launch is the company’s partnership with Crypto.com, which provides backend trading infrastructure. Travis McGhee, head of predictions at Crypto.com, emphasized that the collaboration will ensure a compliant and secure experience for users. Fanatics strengthened its regulatory position earlier this year by acquiring Paragon Global Markets, which gave it approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and membership in the National Futures Association (NFA)—a critical step for operating legally in the U.S. prediction market landscape.
Matt King, CEO of Fanatics Betting and Gaming, said the goal is to give fans a safe, intuitive way to engage with cultural and sports moments that matter most. The launch is part of a broader strategy by Fanatics to integrate financial products into its well-established sports ecosystem, expanding its reach far beyond merchandise, trading cards and collectibles.
The Fanatics Markets app is available now on both iOS and Android, offering an accessible gateway into the growing world of real-money event trading.
