PayPal Expands Crypto Offerings with Chainlink and Solana Support

PayPal has added Chainlink (LINK) and Solana (SOL) to its expanding lineup of supported cryptocurrencies, allowing U.S. users to buy, sell, hold, and transfer the tokens directly through PayPal and Venmo. This latest move highlights the payments giant’s deepening commitment to digital assets, following its initial rollout of crypto services in 2020.

The integration of LINK and SOL provides users with more flexibility and choice in how they engage with crypto, aligning with the growing demand for accessible digital asset services. Over the next few weeks, the new tokens will become available to U.S. users across both platforms.

May Zabaneh, PayPal’s Vice President of Blockchain, Crypto, and Digital Currencies, emphasized the company’s ongoing mission to broaden access to digital currencies. “Offering more tokens on PayPal and Venmo provides users with greater flexibility, choice, and access to digital currencies,” she said in a press release.

In addition to supporting more cryptocurrencies, PayPal has taken further steps into the Web3 space by launching its own U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin and extending crypto features to business accounts in the U.S. This positions PayPal as a key player in the evolving digital finance ecosystem.
