Decentralization is a core principle of blockchain, often discussed in Bitcoin mining. However, Proof-of-Stake (PoS) networks like Ethereum and Solana also face centralization risks. SenseiNode, a leading staking firm, is tackling this issue by establishing validator nodes across Latin America, diversifying the global staking infrastructure.

"Initially, 99% of nodes were in the US, Europe, and parts of Asia," said SenseiNode CEO Pablo Larguia. "We pioneered jurisdictional decentralization in Latin America." The company operates in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Costa Rica, and Colombia, using local data centers instead of relying on centralized cloud providers like AWS.

With $800 million in staked assets, SenseiNode ranks as the world’s 15th-largest staking firm. The largest, Kiln, manages over $7 billion. While Latin American data centers lag behind Western infrastructure, SenseiNode actively supports local upgrades to ensure reliable staking operations.

Running a validator varies by blockchain. Ethereum requires $300 per month per node but limits each validator to 32 ETH, increasing operational complexity. Solana validators cost around $800 monthly but allow unlimited token delegation, making them more efficient for large-scale staking. SenseiNode currently operates about 9,000 Ethereum nodes but only a handful for Polkadot and Avalanche.

By decentralizing staking infrastructure, SenseiNode enhances network resilience and reduces reliance on centralized hosting providers. Its efforts contribute to a more robust and globally distributed blockchain ecosystem.
