Billionaire investor and Bitcoin advocate Tim Draper has praised the newly approved Strategic Bitcoin Reserve in the U.S., calling it an "awesome" move. He emphasized that Bitcoin is a valuable asset for national reserves, corporate treasuries, and families, urging investors to accumulate BTC.

Draper, known for his bold crypto predictions, previously compared Bitcoin to Netflix and traditional banks to Blockbuster. He highlighted how disruptive technologies reshape industries, citing Bitcoin’s potential to revolutionize finance just as Netflix did to media.

Earlier this week, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order to establish the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, a landmark decision welcomed by many in the crypto space. While initial reports suggested that top altcoins like Ethereum (ETH), XRP, Cardano (ADA), and Solana (SOL) might be included, billionaire and "crypto czar" David Sacks clarified that Trump only mentioned them due to their market rankings.

Contrary to speculation about large-scale BTC purchases, the U.S. government will build its reserve using nearly 200,000 Bitcoin already in its possession—primarily confiscated from illicit activities like Silk Road over the past decade.

Despite the historic announcement, Bitcoin prices dropped 4.73% to $86,220, as the market reacted to the absence of immediate government purchases. However, long-term Bitcoin proponents see this as a significant step toward broader institutional adoption.

With Draper’s endorsement and the growing acceptance of Bitcoin in national reserves, the crypto industry is watching closely to see how this move influences future policy and market trends.
