Binance founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao has confirmed that his long-awaited memoir will be released in late February or early March, offering readers an unfiltered look into his life, career, and the controversies surrounding the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange. Announcing the update on X on January 25, CZ said the book will include details he could not publicly discuss during his recent appearance at the Davos Forum, adding, “There is nothing to hide. More details in the upcoming book.”

The memoir will be self-published simultaneously in English and Chinese, spanning roughly 300 pages and about 97,000 words. CZ explained that bypassing traditional publishers was a strategic decision driven by speed, as the conventional publishing process would significantly delay the release. Despite the scale of anticipation around the book, CZ emphasized that the project is not for profit, confirming that all proceeds will be donated to charity.

The Chinese edition is tentatively titled “币安人生,” which roughly translates to “Binance Life” or “A Life with Binance,” while the English title has yet to be finalized and is expected to differ entirely. Aware of how quickly crypto culture can turn popular phrases into speculative assets, CZ publicly distanced himself from any memecoin associations tied to the title, stating clearly that he holds no such tokens and has no plans to do so.

CZ first revealed the memoir in March 2025, disclosing that an initial 114,000-word draft took far longer to complete than anticipated and required extensive rewrites. The final version has since been condensed after months of editing. The book reportedly addresses major crypto industry events, including discussions around the Terra/LUNA collapse and speculation involving FTX, though CZ has previously stressed he avoids unproven claims.

Importantly, the memoir will also cover CZ’s personal legal journey. He confirmed that it includes details about his four-month prison sentence following his guilty plea to US anti-money laundering violations in 2023, as well as events leading up to and after his release in 2024 and subsequent presidential pardon in 2025.

Since stepping down as Binance CEO, CZ has largely stayed out of operational discussions, focusing instead on philanthropy, education, and now a memoir that promises a comprehensive, firsthand account of one of crypto’s most influential figures.
