Eric Trump to Unveil American Bitcoin Mining Vision at Consensus 2025

Eric Trump, the second son of U.S. President Donald Trump, is set to speak at Consensus 2025 in Toronto, where he will share his vision for transforming the U.S. Bitcoin mining industry. As Chief Strategy Officer of American Bitcoin, a venture launched in partnership with Hut 8, Trump aims to build the world’s largest and most efficient pure-play Bitcoin mining company. The firm, launched on March 31, is targeting over 50 EH/s of mining capacity.

Speaking at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on May 15, Trump will spotlight the company’s ambition to lead North American Bitcoin production. Consensus, organized by CoinDesk, remains one of the most influential blockchain and crypto conferences globally, drawing over 15,000 attendees annually.

American Bitcoin is one of several Web3 ventures backed by the Trump family. Eric Trump is also involved in World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a DeFi platform planning to launch its own stablecoin, USD1, with BitGo handling custody. He also advises Metaplanet, Japan’s largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, and Dominari Holdings, a wealth management firm that recently disclosed a $2 million investment in BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT).

Trump has been vocal about how the Trump Organization’s experience being “debanked” under the Biden administration led them to embrace crypto. Calling it “faster, more transparent, and exponentially cheaper,” he stated that the experience pushed them to explore blockchain technologies more deeply.

While Trump is increasingly active in crypto, not all moves have gone smoothly. In February, he tweeted support for Ethereum (ETH) at around $2,700—currently, ETH trades near $1,500.

With Consensus 2025 approaching, Eric Trump’s participation signals growing political and institutional interest in crypto mining and digital assets.
