Bitcoin and altcoins saw a dramatic upswing late Monday following U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of a “complete and total” ceasefire between Iran and Israel. In a post on Truth Social, Trump declared that both nations had agreed to halt hostilities, with the ceasefire expected to begin within six hours.

Bitcoin, which had plunged to $98,500 just a day earlier, surged nearly 3% on the news, briefly crossing the $106,000 mark before settling around $105,300. The rally continued a volatile 72-hour period for crypto markets, driven largely by geopolitical tensions and macroeconomic uncertainty.

Altcoins also experienced sharp gains. Ethereum (ETH) climbed to $2,406, while XRP soared to $2.15. Solana (SOL) posted strong momentum, trading at $143.65. Many tokens saw 8%–10% increases within hours of Trump’s post, as investors reacted swiftly to potential de-escalation in the Middle East.
