Dymension is a home for easily deployable and lightning-fast fast app-chains, called RollApps.
dYmension follows a modular blockchain architecture design that decouples different functions of a 'Monolithic' blockchain for greater performance, efficiency, and scalability.
RollApp Architecture
A RollApp instance on dYmension is an application-specific rollup, built using the dYmension RollApp Development Kit, termed RDK. The RDK simplifies deploying a RollApp on top of dYmension's settlement layer.
RollApps are similar to Cosmos App-Chains but outsource the overhead of reaching consensus to the Dymension Hub. It is composed of two core services, client and server. The server is the application side designated for the RollApp deployed to implement custom business logic alongside the pre-packaged modules that construct the RollApp Development Kit.
Sequencers are the RollApp operators that validate, order, and process transactions. After submitting and processing a transaction, the Sequencer responds with an immediate state update.
Dymint- Responsible for block production, peer message propagation, and inter-layer communication.
Dymension Hub- It is the settlement layer that solves Dispute resolution, maintains state roots, and bridges between environments.
IBC -
RollApps natively interact with the Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol which provides safe message transferring between Dymension RollApps.
