Massive 230M XRP Whale Transfer Sparks Speculation as Wallet Activity Hits New High

A massive XRP transaction has caught the attention of the crypto community. According to blockchain tracker Whale Alert, an anonymous wallet transferred 230,770,000 XRP—worth over $414 million—to another unidentified wallet. This large-scale move happened less than three hours ago and quickly triggered speculation among XRP enthusiasts online.

The transfer, initially assumed to be a possible over-the-counter (OTC) sale by some users on X (formerly Twitter), was later linked to wallets associated with major U.S. exchange Kraken, according to XRP explorer Bithomp. This has led many to believe it was likely an internal transfer rather than a market-moving event.

Earlier this week, Whale Alert flagged a similar transaction involving 200 million XRP sent to Binance. That transfer also turned out to be an internal reshuffle by the exchange, calming initial fears of a large selloff.

Despite recent price volatility—XRP dropped over 10% in the past 24 hours from $1.95 to $1.74 before recovering to $1.82—network activity is on the rise. New data from Glassnode, shared by crypto analyst Ali Martinez, shows the XRP network has reached an all-time high of 6.26 million wallets holding at least 1 XRP. This surge in small wallet holders reflects growing adoption and community interest.

As speculation grows around whale behavior and network metrics improve, XRP fans remain optimistic. Some even predict XRP could surpass Ethereum by year-end, adding further fuel to an already heated debate in the crypto space.
